Farewell, Summer
Intro
This is Time's Corner, a weekly newsletter by Christian Leithart. I’m co-founder of Little Word, editor of Good Work magazine, and creator of Psalm Tap, a yearly colloquium for church musicians. By day, I teach make the most of summer break, and by night, I edit this newsletter.
Farewell, Summer
Summer’s not actually over, but the pot of soup that is the academic year has started to simmer, and I still have things to do before it boils over. All that to say, you’ll hear from Time’s Corner much less frequently for the next few months. I do crave your answers to the Thursday question, however, and I promise to send out at least one more email with your replies.

This video points out one trick he uses (probably without thinking about it) to move actors and camera through space, which gives the audience a sense of where the actors are relative to one another, making it extremely easy to follow what’s happening on screen. The guy behind the video calls it “The L system.”
I wrote about one problem I have with Joseph Campbell’s monomyth theory.
Baldur Bjarnason argues that AI chatbots use the same strategies to answer questions that bogus psychics use to read people’s minds.
